Since opening our doors in 2015, Studio 48 has been a welcoming, creative space where fun and learning go hand in hand. Our experienced instructors offer engaging art classes, courses, and events for all ages and skill levels.
From drawing, painting, crafts, sculpture, animation, and digital art to term-time clubs, family-friendly sessions and adult daytime and evening classes, there’s something for everyone! We also host creative birthdays, hen dos, corporate events and more in our cosy Leith studio or at your chosen location.
Every class and workshop includes all materials, as well as drinks, snacks, aprons, and personalised guidance. Come join the fun at Studio 48 in Leith! We’re here to help you explore your creativity, learn new skills, and most importantly, find joy in creating art.
Art for Adults
Explore your creativity in our welcoming, artist-led classes for adults of all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or a practicing artist, our sessions are designed to be relaxed, supportive, and fun. All materials, aprons, drinks, snacks, and personalised guidance are included, and you’ll leave with artwork to take home after every session!
Our courses offer morning or evening sessions in drawing, painting, illustration, mixed media, and more. Book the full course or drop in to individual sessions. Our workshops offer relaxed afternoon sessions and evening Sip & Art events, with a range of creative materials and themes to explore.

Art For kids
Term-time classes and parties are available for children aged 6 years and upwards in a fun, welcoming environment led by passionate, experienced instructors. Our supportive sessions are designed to build confidence, encourage creativity, and help young artists explore new skills while making friends along the way.
Through hands-on activities in drawing, painting, sculpture, 3D art, digital art, crafts, and more, children have the opportunity to experiment with different materials, learn about art history, and develop their creativity in a space ideal for visual learners and curious minds.

Arty Parties
Our Arty Parties offer a fun, creative, and memorable way to celebrate any occasion. Whether you’re planning a birthday, special occasion, hen-do, corporate team-building event, or simply a gathering with friends, our parties are designed to bring people together through art.
Our adult Arty Parties are a fantastic way to celebrate in style, with a 2-hour creative session, a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink per person, and a selection of snacks, plates, cutlery, napkins, and cups provided. Our welcoming studio can accommodate up to 18 guests, or we can bring the art and supplies to your chosen venue or workplace.
Our kids’ Arty Birthday Parties give young artists the chance to celebrate with their friends while creating their own masterpieces. Suitable for children aged 8+, with groups of up to 16, parties last up to 1 hour and 15 minutes and can be tailored to suit your child’s interests.
Family-Friednly workshops
Our family-friendly art sessions are fun, relaxed, and suitable for all ages and skill levels. They’re a great way to spend creative time together, with a new project to enjoy as a family. Our welcoming studio is filled with art materials and friendly instructors who are on hand throughout the session to offer guidance and support. Families can experiment, have fun, and create their own unique artwork to take home.
Our family sessions are designed to make art accessible and enjoyable for everyone, with under-16s receiving half-price admission when booked with an adult ticket.

My son has been going to the Creative Critters art class on Fridays for a couple of years now and he loves it. Sally and team are lovely and have created an amazing space for the kids to have lots of creative fun.

My daughters (8 and 10) did a camp at Studio 48 for one of the school holidays and were thrilled with all the diverse activities they got to do and what they learned - I have never seen them so switched on from a camp - they came home and wanted to show us how they learned to draw manga and tell us all about it. Join us for a 4-week intro to watercolour painting course, exploring a wide range of techniques in a supportive, relaxed, and creative environment! The 2 hour sessions run every Wednesday morning from August 12 to September 2, 10:30 AM–12.30 PM. All materials, drinks, snack & aprons provided and all skill levels welcome!
